We are seeking a Procurement Assistant to support the purchasing and expediting of Capital Equipment and services. This role involves sourcing, identifying supplies, negotiating prices and terms, coordinating delivery schedules, and maintaining vendor communication while liaising with on-site business areas.
License/Certificate Requirements:
- IIPMM Certificate/Degree is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Capital Procurement team in implementing procurement plans supporting the Project Procurement Plan and Global Capital Facility Project plans.
- Analyze quotations and prepare commercial bid analysis with vendor recommendations for site business partners.
- Negotiate and achieve cost reductions and savings with suppliers/contractors for Capital Equipment and services.
- Execute purchase order transactions in SAP & Ariba.
- Expedite Purchase Orders and provide regular status reports.
- Apply the Vendor Management process for setting up vendors on SAP & Ariba.
- Manage Capital Purchase Orders (PO) in SAP.
- Maintain a filing system for Purchase Orders and Vendor Data.
- Provide backup support for similar procurement roles as required by the business.
Key Attributes:
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to quickly build relationships with stakeholders.
- Flexibility and ability to handle multiple requests across various business areas.
- High level of IT proficiency (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Previous experience with SAP / Ariba is an advantage.
- Previous experience working on large Capital projects is an advantage.
- Strong sense of customer focus and teamwork.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
